Manx GP

It's that time of the year again, the Manx GP is on.
For the un-initiated: the Manx is the qualifier for the Isle of Man GP. If you want to run the IOM, you first have to run a "New Comers" race at the Manx, and if you finish the "new comers" at no more than 110% of the winning time, you qualify for the Manx. If you finish your Manx GP class at no more than 110% of the winning time of your class, you qualify to APPLY to the IOM GP.
The Manx is also where they run "Classic" bikes, sometimes with "Classic" riders, on the IOM circuit. Ago is racing this year, as is "Foggy".

You just missed an interview with Dave Roper.

... and if you're into "Classics" racing, the Vintage Road Race Assn. will be at Mosport this weekend. see you there.

Thanks for sharing the event news.
Any idea as to the program for the VRRA event this weekend and what is the spectator admission fee?

I can't find a schedule.

^^^ +1

I have to agree, the VRRA do put on a really good show. I was there both days and it was worth the trip alone just to see and (more importantly) hear Roper on that 3-cylinder MV Agusta. I'm also a big fan of the P1 and P2 bikes and it seemed that they had full grids with lots of young people in those classes which is really good to see. Just a pity about the rain on Sunday afternoon

There were also some really nice street bikes. I'm big Yamaha 2-stroke twin enthusiast and there were some really nice road going examples showed up. There was a particularly nice red and white RZ350 with what looked to have a Suzuki RGV front and back end on it. I just saw it driving past, and I was wondering if that person was on here? It was really well done.

On a sadder note one of the Marshals died during the endurance race on Friday. I don't think it was caused by a racing incident but a medical emergency while he was assisting a rider. I didn't get his name but God Speed. I think Marshals are really the unsung heroes of any racing event. They have to stand out there in 35C+ or pouring rain, but keep everyone safe and without them there would be no racing at all.
