Parking at YYZ

I need to fly out of town for a day for work and am thinking about riding to the airport. I have heard that motorcycles park free. Has anyone parked at the airport before?

I have done a search and come up with some pretty old info.

Wondering if it is free and if there is a dedicated spot for motorcycles.

anyone have some recent info to share?

thanks.

Ric.

I fly out of Pearson frequently, and parking a motorcycle there isn't something I have ever considered. I'd say there is a high probability that the bike won't be there when you return.

I avoid leaving my four wheeled vehicle there...
'Even the Park & Fly is a risk. 'Back in Feb. I left my F150 for ten days... 'When I retuned I noticed it was in 4x4 (wasn't when I left it...)
'Got home. parked and when I went to leave the next day I noticed one running board was bent.

WTF...?

Don't know about bikes, but I always park my car at the value park garage. Much safer there. It's more expensive than all the other options, but convenient and covered.

Motorcycle parking there won't be free. But it's safer leaving it there than it open lots.
I would avoid it though.

Did you leave your key with them ?

Park&Fly valet lot? Must have been ... they have your key. In the self-park lot, you park the car, you lock it, you take the key with you, nobody else has access to it.

I don't use valet parking anywhere, if for no other reason than that I don't trust the valet drivers with a manual transmission and clutch.

Never had any issue with the value-park lot or garage, and the train to and from runs much more frequently and consistently than the Park&Fly shuttles. But I'd never park a motorcycle there.

I fly out in the morning and back that evening, the bike would be left for about 14 hours, and want to leave my car for my kid to use. Thought I’d take the bike if parking was free. Looks like I’ll be Ubering.

I do the same, always Pearson Value Park Garage now, covered parking. They always send out discount codes if you're signed up on email. Cheaper than uber for most trips I go on (1-2 weeks).
Train comes quick enough, not out in the cold like Park n Fly waiting for the slow shuttle, freezing with 20 stops before you get to the terminal.

Exactly. For me, VP garage works out cheaper than Uber, even if parking for 2 weeks. If more than 2 weeks, then Uber is cheaper. We have a thread on the RFD forum, where we keep posting discount codes whenever they're available.

Worst case use code "19REGISTER", good throughout the year. Offers around 10% off. "19" is for the year 2019. Code for 2018 was "18REGISTER". Hoping they keep this going every year.

You mentioned fly off for work, why not just Uber and expense the trip? I travel for work often, have a car/bike and even people to give me rides, I still just uber and expense it for the convenience and hassle free method

As do I, it’s early in the season and gets me some extra miles of riding.

After all of the replies, I’ll be ubering.

as a valet part time i'm crushed ?

You're a 1%-er ...

... the (seemingly) 1% who are competent with a clutch and manual transmission nowadays!

I'd get someone in the other 99% and get my car back with a slipping clutch and gear teeth in the bottom of the transmission and a busted shift linkage.

Last time I had the car to the dealer for an oil change, the young chap at the dealer who was assigned to move the car into the service bay, took one look inside then went back to the desk "It's manual" ...

I often leave my car unlocked and my key in the glove box when parked at a private residence during the day. Cause even if they found the key, how are they going to steal it?
