Torque & Horsepower Explained

To the GTAM residents with the most life experience: what was the first time you can remember reading or hearing something trying to explain horsepower vs torque in writing?

For me it was almost certainly a Hot Rod magazine, I'm gonna roll the dice and say I was approximately 12
My grand-dad when I was about 8/9y

"Torque and horsepower are like bullock-cart and a horse carriage. Bulls can pull heavy stationary weights with less effort while a horse can keep going longer with less effort once the carriage reaches a certain momentum. Generating momentum vs maintaining the momentum. So heavier objects need more torque to start moving while lighter objects need more horsepower to keep moving at the same change of pace."

This stuck with me like this cartoon
