Departed Kingston at 8:30 with a little cloud and 20 degrees.
Heading north on Hwy 10 there was a little more traffic than during weekdays.
Stopped at the Falls River Cafe for coffee.
The road from Maberly, Snow Road Station, Ompah to Hwy 41 had little traffic and lots of corners.
Being "north of 7" there are not a lot of gas stations or restaurants.
Hwy 41 was busy so I just road at speed of traffic and stopped in Kaladar for gas although I did not need it.
There where platoons of at least 50 cars and trucks heading West on Hwy7 and it took 3 minutes to get onto eastbound lane from the Shell station. There is a reason I do not normally ride on weekends!
I turned off Hwy7 at Arden and left the traffic behind.
After about 5 kilometres of rough road the quality of pavement improved and had a spirited ride to Tamworth.
Somebody has marked this road on OpenStreetMaps as gravel but it is not and even has a yellow line down the middle.
They must have been nervous of the trees growing 12 inches from the edge of the pavement.
Stopped for Lunch at the Black Cat Cafe in Tamworth.
The temperature was in the 25 degree range and even with my mesh jacket it was too hot.
I had a little detour thru Wilton for fresh curd.
