I forgot to add, riding (or should I say learning to ride) a vintage bike is a motorcycle experience in itself. The shake, surge, brake-fade... I think that might add to the thrill, learning how riders managed way back. I love my old girls.

I could honestly have my choice of vintage bikes cafe racers ect cause that's what my father in law does for a living but that's just not my style.

I'm not trying to confuse being different with wanting Others to think I'm cool. I want different for myself, I couldn't care less what others think of my bike lol

I am surprised to hear offering 8k or even lower. I think I might be offended or low balled if I were offered that lol. He'll I was even questioning 8500 with safety done.

I don't think I can do the mv...

My dream bike is a 2017 RSVR RF. I habe have pictures of it in my room as a goal to reach for. That being said I think I am going to go with 1 of the 2 aprilias I mentioned in the op.

2005 factory 32k
2007 rsv1000r 35k

Both are asking 6500 both look nearly identical as well. Are there any Significant differences between 05 and 07? The 05 has carbon body lighter wheels and rear ohlins but that's all I can find that are different...

You should buy a new 2017 RSVR RF

even if the graphics do resemble a billboard that reads "a" something and the rest of it I can't read because your knee is in the way.

I wish i could it's my dream bike...gotta start somewhere so maybe an older version is the way to go lol...

Huh?

2017 RF is my dream bike. However there are 2 aprilias I posted above listed at 6500 that I can swing lol.

Btw the difference I was asking about was between the 05 and 07 models. I know the basic difference between factory and non factory for the older bikes.

07 finally got back but at 6k with no safety. Hmm not good lol. I offered 5500 with safety so I guess at least he replied...

I wouldn't let a safety certificate strongly deter you from buying a bike. It's mostly a visual inspection of things that you can check for yourself: lights, indicator, levers and pegs operational, tire tread, etc.

The most common thing that fails safety certificate inspection are the tires. And most times the bike will fail because the place you took it to wants to sell you new tires... Take a bike that's failed a cert because of tires to a place that has no incentive to sell you tires and you'll see it pass no problem.

Safety cert is not worth $500 off a bike, IMO. If I'm the seller and I know it will pass, I may discount it $100 because I'm lazy and want to save my own time.

That said, if the tires do look worn, then the bikes is worth $500 less if you need to replace them...

Thx for the reply and that makes sense however I would hate to somehow take the bike in for safety and all of a sudden I need to put out more money somehow.

I don't think its a concern now though cause it looks like I may have purchased the 2010 mv Augusta f4 for 8600 safetied uvip delivered and able to test ride it before handing over the cash.

Not sure if I ever bought a bike with a safety already done. For sure not in the last decade or more. Always checked it over myself and gone to get the safety myself after the purchase.

I've never purchased a bike truck or car without one...

If you read over the safety regulations (they're available online), there really isn't anything you wouldn't be able to check yourself in a ten minute walk around the bike.

Regardless, hope you get the F4, super jealous.

Hey that's good info thx for the heads up. I assumed it was pretty detailed.

If it does work out i'm still happy with everything.

Theoretically it is very detailed, but someone who does those inspections day in and day out will know within seconds of seeing the bike whether he is dealing with something well-maintained in nice condition, or something that is a complete pile. The beat-up heap gets gone over with a fine-toothed comb. The nice one gets a quick check of how much is left on the tires and brake pads and that the chain is decent, that the lights and horn work in case someone might have missed a burned-out bulb, and perhaps a quick check that the steering head bearings don't have slop that you can feel or hear.

Dang man the seller is not willing to write the bill of sale for cheaper then he is selling the bike. He said if that's a dealer breaker for me then oh well. Geez that's a tough one. Just called service ontario and they said if they don't like the price given they can investigate and ask the owner what he sold it for. If that's the case and he won't write it for cheaper I can only assume he would contact them back to tell them...

If he responds back to them with the correct price you will end up owing twice the tax. They send the letter out almost everytime it is up to the seller to disregard it or respond.

I just read some posts here about it.

I'm just at a loss why would you kill a deal on something so ridiculous like this. I couldn't care less what someone wants a bill of sale for. Hell the gov got their money already on the initial purchase and probably the other times it's was sold...

Dammit!
