2017 gsx-r 1000

lol Well, that's what they are making on multiple Dynojets, who knows what it makes on the CSBK dyno. Certainly not I.

Here's a setup right from Akrapovic's web site:

one from EDR with pipe + PCV tune, bottom line is stock race ecu results, top line is with U4.4 and richer tune using the PCV (got 5hp, whoopee)

If I had to I could find others, as I have seen now about 10 of these with pretty much the same results - with slip-on it's around the same output as the stock headers are essentially copies of the Akrapovic evo2 header with very little improvement to be seen in a full system, a few horsepower probably just because of the minimal restriction of the open exhaust valve (race ECU turns off monitoring the valve, and then you lock-wire it open so the spring can't be overwhelmed at high RPM when you remove the servo motor).

Some have claimed 197whp with full system + race filter + tuning. I'm a bit skeptical.

I'll say 180 and that's being generous. I've seen guys claim 200hp on the 11-15 zx10 with a reflash and exhaust. That'll get you ~175 on the CSBK Dyno.

My 600 made 101. :/

I have seen plenty of 180-184whp stock (100% nothing done) from magazines, tuners, etc. and 188-192whp out of bikes with race ECU and slip-on for that bike. But that's all on Dynojets. As always, they're better tuning tools than they are absolute power indicators.

Still, that's an indication that the RR/RF motors put out good power and are in the ballpark with everyone else's bike
(except *maybe* Suzuki, but all I have seen is the one dyno plot that had like 70 runs, which is a bit suspicious to me).

Ya magazines aren't using the CSBK Dyno. I was excited when I got my 2011 zx10 thinking that with a full exhaust and some head work I'd be up near 190hp. I made 180 with a full akro, properly tuned on shell 91. Stock was 170 (kit ecu, slip on). The new gsxr might be a bit stronger but I'll bet it's around 180. If it's making 185 stock (restrictions removed, pipe) I'll be surprised and happy for them.

Further, the only real measuring stick Shaman will have to compare with other real race bikes is the CSBK dyno.

It does read low compared to magazines but it's the best tool we've got for accurate comparisons.

Is it not possible to switch maps from the pits remotely before going on the dyno?...after the race is done.

Lots of things are possible.

For instance, with more bikes having front and rear wheel speed sensors it's possible that someone could write a map that puts the ECU in "dyno mode" when the front wheel speed is zero.

That is next level *****
*mind blown

Don't know if this is legit, but an unrestricted 2017 GSX-R 1000 making 195 HP at the rear wheel is very welcome!

Unrestricted it'll be 200 +

This kind of shenanigans have been done for years. But ... with how low the CSBK dyno reads compared to others and with how high the limit is for this year, I doubt if it will be necessary.

Even without wheel-speed-sensor trickery (or other such shenanigans) - On bikes with ram air, they inherently make less power on the dyno than on the track, and judicious fiddling with the maps can make the difference even more pronounced should the need arise ...

clealry if ppl are still having the need to cheat at this level...
might as well just have an open class to run whatever you want
turbo and supercharger, why not
there comes a point that you can not use all of that power for the tracks around here, ppl will just launch themselves into whatever

It's not a pure sport. It's entertainment. Original Formula Extreme stateside tried that. It was run what you brung. I think a nitrous oxide 250 did well there on tighter tracks.

edit, was thinking of WERA Formula USA

The only place you're not dialing back power is Mosport. I don't think I even get wot at shubie. By the time big hp helps at Shannonville you're on the brakes, good drive is key there same as st.eustache
