List top naked bikes for me!

Hey guys,
First off, thanks for reading and your time,

I am looking to upgrade in a year... did my time with a ninja 250 for a year and planning to do it again for another year to be fully comfortable.. having said that, i have already done a Europe ride with 650 naked bikes .. (TIME OF MY LIFE)... anyways, i'm really into naked bikes like Super Duke of KTM, Streetfighter, Z1000 and like them!

so my problems are...

1. DAMN IT CANADA why did they stop with KTM???? maybe they'll start again in 2013 but this just sucks! no more Super Duke for me! (that is my dream bike to have)

2. Streetfighter 848 looks VERY promising! but i have always heard Italian machines are not reliable... no offense but i've talked to more than couple of mechanics and they tell me the same thing... stick with Japanese & Austrian.. anyways, (don't start debating with me here.. i'm not looking to argue, just looking for experience and answers) thanks very much!

so what do you think? what would be the best route to go with? i mean in Canada we are SOOOO limited.. i hate that!
what are your thoughts in general?

thanks again!

Cheers!

Streetfighter, Speed Triple, Z1000, Aprilia Tuono, MV Agusta Brutale.

The Ducati is plenty reliable. Anyone telling you otherwise is just repeating old stigma attached to earlier generations of these bikes...

Streetfighter is definitely the most lively and aggressive of the bunch. That'd be my choice.

i RIDE A 1250 SUZUKI BANDIT A NAKED AND IT DOES ME JUST FINE TWISTIES LONG HAULS AND IT IS QUITE TOURQEY CAN KEEP UP WITH MOST CAN GET ONE ON THE CHEAP AN 07 FOR 5000

take away the Ducati's this would be next in my list

Z1000

Honda 599 or 919. There was a black '06 599 at the bike show for sale

Vanilla motorcycles. Underpowered, understyled, underperformers.

Honda even screwed up the new CB1000R. Its engine is derived from the previous generation Fireblade but it only puts down a paltry 108rwhp? What a joke. The sport-naked segment is growing and has a number of serious performance bikes in the roster... and that's what Honda comes up with to compete? Pfft.

BMW K1300R. I've been riding a K1200R for the last 3 years and love this bike so much that I've kept it longer than any other I've owned (and plan on keeping it!). I only wish BMW sold the K1300R in the US.

very interesting choices and thank you ALL for responding!

I just saw the BMW K1300R at the show. I was very impressed, that is an awesome bike.

If you can get past the bug eyes, the Speed Triple would be the top of my list. Previous gen, looks better but, the performance reviews of the latest read well. Pretty most versions are highly regarded.

Ducati would be next. As much as I respect your mechanics feedback, I trust the feedback from owners more. I know a few and know their bikes are on par or better than anything else on two wheels. And the Ducati has changed service intervals for most of their machines to be similar to any other make.

Third is Kawi's Z1000 followed by FZ1 and then the CB1000. It would really depend on what fell into my lap and the price point. But, I wouldn't really be activily looking at these. It would be more of if they became available for a great price and I felt they were well taken care of and would continue to be good to me.

The new Z1000 is a good looking bike.. nice and aggressive! And it sounds like it has the balls to match the looks.

But to me, a naked sport is a hooligan machine and nothing suits that purpose better than a big fat v-twin.

one problem i forgot to mention... is it just me or is Kawasaki just CHEAP?
my first wheelie on the ninja 250.. front even didn't lift up more than 2 feet... BUT my front fairing cracked when i came back down! lol

you'd think a 2011 bike would be able to take a small wheelie! i came down smoothly too! i don't know why it broke that easily!

anyways, just that was enough to make me forget about Kawasaki... maybe i'm wrong! maybe you're not supposed to do wheelies with ninja 250r's suspension! i dont know what do you think?

Buell...if u can find one.
