M1 Sample Questions

Read the book once and your fine. Dont over think this, its just an M1 exam. I read it the day before I did the test and passed with no problems.

Bump for all you noobs this season. I was looking for some sample questions for my bro and came across this thread.
Thx Banger.

Here are some other links that people may find useful just for studying with practice tests. Note that some of them are not Ontario based but still get your mind thinking in the right direction.

Weird, that California test is almost exactly the same as our M1 test.... I wonder if some standards group wrote these tests and then sold them to governments? I noticed when i took my M1, the actual test paper was like a 20th generation photocopy... Maybe drivetest is too cheap to order new official copies :p

BUMP!!! FOR ALL THE NOOBS!!!

This actually helped me...was nervous at first but realized it's stuff from the book :p

The other was on why we use foot pegs, then had 4 correct answers, but they wanted the most correct answer, which was because it helps maintain balance.

Yeah, I just did the M1 today and got this question, and I remember it because it DID have 4 correct answers. It was something like:

Why is it important to use the foot pegs?
To help with balance
Because it is comfortable
Easy access to the foot controls
So your feet don't dangle

I chose foot controls...

I also remember one about how to get out of a high speed wobble, and I remember a thread where a bunch of people were discussing the best method. iirc, it involved a little accel, and avoiding the brakes. I got that question wrong too...

Worst of all? There was more than one SPELLING ERROR on the M1 test. Pathetic that an official test didn't even make it through spellcheck. Whatever though, I passed!

The correct answer iirc was "don't fight the wobble, roll off the throttle, and don't touch the brakes."

Another bump - I wrote the M1 yesterday and with the help of this thread I got a perfect score :) I hadn't written a driving test in 37 years. Now I'm off to the Centennial riders course this weekend.
Thanks

IN! Although I read the book once and passed both my m1 and g1 test at the same time!

Anyone who needs help with their M1 shouldn't be riding...
agreed....
but really, who knew all the laws have changed in the last 14 years for the G1 section of the test? i mean really... none of that under 21 bs affects me anyway lol

on a side note, i want tighter licensing requirements... i saw someone fail the written a few times after they failed the eye exam... i cant believe they let him keep re-writing it till he passed... not impressed....

Don't take scuba lessons then.

Actually, with most lessons you can do them over and over until you pass.

Before making a left turn from a one-way traffic street, you should be:
-Close to the left-hand side of the roadway
Does not matter, provided you signal and no other traffic is present
Close to the center line of the roadway
Close to the right-hand side of the roadway

Been 5 years since I wrote my M1, glad I didn't get that one, unless I am reading this wrong, I would have thought the correct answer would have been where ever the correct blocking position was, as it doesn't say if it's a one lane, one way street? Or am I reading this wrong? Like if it's a 2 lane one way street and I am in the far left lane, I should be in the right tire track right? And if in right lane I should be in left tire track? And after making turn get into proper blocking again?
