Motorcycle trailers

very nice trailer
I'd cross-post that ad in the kijiji motorcycle section -> cruisers
put Harley Davidson Trailer in the ad title
lots of boomers with hogs and dough would love a trailer like that

and Daytona Bike Week is coming up soon

Are the Harley logos removable? Those would have to go right away for a lot of people...including my buddy with the Spyder. The measurements work though.

I'll email him your ad. Although I know money isn't a problem, I'm not sure he's looking for something crazy fancy at the same time, so it probably comes down to dollars and cents and $7500 may be a bit steep considering there's brand new enclosed trailers in a similar size (and many, with brakes as well) for less.

Ultimately, PM me your absolute best price so I can let him know. Like I said, he's in FL right now...but I'm only about 5 minutes from you myself. ;)

Why would anyone want to advertise that they have a nice bike inside to steal? If it was mine it would have a big decal that said "Joe's toilet unclogging service"

Ego.

It's a HD thing. Gotta have the logo emblazoned on everything from your gloves, to your boots, your jacket, every T-Shirt you ever wear while riding...everything. Even if you actually only ride said HD 500KM/year.

And yes, I never understood why you'd want to put a logo on a trailer with a very valuable cargo inside. It just screams "Steal me, valuable stuff inside" IMHO.

If I had a trailer with valuable stuff in it I'd stick some logo like this on the all 4 sides.

Pretty much assured nobody is going to bother with that. ;)

Well it’s been on ther for 5 years and never had a problem with theft.
I also own a lettered construction trailer, truck and cargo van all them with valuable tools inside.
never had a problem.
in fact I’ve had a lettered tool truck my entire career and never had a theft.
i think society maybe isn’t that bad after all.

But I also have insurance just in case.

Also what is with this stigma on this website about HD’s that don’t get ridden?
More often than not my experience when bike shopping or selling has been that HDs tend to have higher mileage than most bikes.
Right now in fact there is a 2002 R6 in my garage that a friend can’t sell because it has 35k on it and people call it high mileage. I just sold my 2006 HD with 103k considered normal.
my Dads 2006 Ultra Classic for sale with 65K considered low km.

I just don't understand the desire, that's all, it's nothing personal.

A lettered construction trailer and truck is advertising that makes sense if you're looking to get business. If I was an electrician I'd probably advertise that on the side of my vehicles.

Putting giant manufacturer stickers on a trailer, on the other hand, assuming you don't work for Harley, is just free advertising for them. Maybe it's just me, but unless someone is paying me to advertise for them, I don't - much less paying for the privilege. I don't even like it when a car dealer puts their licence plate frames and decals all over a car that I paid for - I feel no obligation to provide them with free advertising.

As for theft, I work in an industry where it's well know that over-advertising what may be in the trailer is horribly unwise. I used to haul material that required a police escort from the factory to the highway due to previous gunpoint hijackings...and then we run as a group so there was protection in numbers if we needed to stop etc. The LAST thing we would have ever done was stick the companies name on the side of the trailer to advertise the high value nature of what was in it. Plain white unmarked trailers was the name of the game. Draw no attention.

It's the same reason you don't see trailers hauling full loads of (for example) iPhones full of iPhone advertisements all down the side.

Again, don't take it personal, but it is a thing. One only look as far as the buy and sell pages to see plenty of proof - I just took a glance at trader.ca and there's pages of 10 year old HD's with <20,000KM on them, and pages and pages and pages of 10 year old HD's with <40,000KM on them.

I know Metrics or all sorts are not exempt either..hell, my current bike was 12 years old when I bought it and had only 10,000KM on it, so it too was a garage queen. But there's a lot more non HD's/Metrics on the road vs HD's in the grand picture, so despite the fact you'll have no problem finding lots of metrics with stupid low mileages as well it doesn't tell an equal story.

It's awesome that you ride hard. I know a lot of HD riders who do the same and I respect that - personally, I don't care what you ride as long as you ride. I will admit I laugh at the rolling billboards however who ride to the Tims in the next town over to pose in the parking lot all day and average <1000KM a year.

The BMW, Moto Guzi and Triumph riders at Starbucks are going to sneer at you showing up on a dirty KTM.

All joking aside, nice bike - got a coworker who owns a KTM, can't say I don't eyeball it even though dualsport isn't really my bag. :)

I don't get it either... Most of the time when I am far out of the city I always see HD's around. There are a few dual sports/ADV's.

People like what they like.

Curious why you switched it up?

I see bikes of all kinds sitting at Timmies, definitely not reserved for Harley riders lol.
I had a honda shadow for a short while, I switched back to adv bikes because I couldn't stand riding by all the best trails and gravel roads and not explore them.
Adv bikes do open up a lot more options when it comes to backroad exploring, and they give up very little in the twisties compared to sportier bikes. For me it just means more fun.

I like this one even better. After I get into camp people wont be reluctant to shake my hand.

Iceman nailed it.
I love my HD it was comfortable, had lots of room for stuff like, extra helmet, extra clothes, towel for the beach, camping gear. and had a killer sound system
What it didn’t have was performance. It was a slug.
Now I have plenty of pep, still have the cargo space, and I can hit a gravel road with out the worry of stone chips and work of cleaning. Just hose it off and be done.
But I do miss the few hundred watts per channel rocking me down the road with that potato potato sweet harmony.

Yeah I thought you might say stuff like this (and Iceman). Mostly the dirty roads and gravel. Ever since I started riding and got the bike I've thought I needed a different bike (or another if possible). Just because I want to venture off pavement. Or the pavement turns into a dirt/gravel road. I just started this riding thing, so I am not quite ready to switch it up yet. But I have had my eye on a Honda African Twin for some time now....

Curious did your insurance change much, better or worse. I know HD's are a bit of a target for insurance.
