A little flag says Not secure. I don't plan on posting my credit info but I'm assuming this has something based on GTAM not paying check out fees to every security organization out there. Or have I configured something wrong with my wifi?

No, it has nothing to do with paying off security vendors.

In the beginning, most web servers just used normal non-encrypted connections to the web browser called the http protocol. Then, when commerce sites started popping up, they modified this protocol to build in encryption and named it https. It's useful to stop eavesdroppers from picking up your credit card information, etc. But most web sites still used the non-encrypted connections, because they weren't conducting financial transactions.

About a year ago, Google decides the world wide web will be better off if *everybody* moved to https, so in their Chrome web browser, they started throwing warnings if the web server was still using non-encrypted http.

So that's the message you are seeing. GTAM hasn't migrated their server from normal http to encrypted https yet. I wouldn't worry too much about it.
