Well I think I'm done with street SS bikes...

Rode a street triple r from Bangkok to Chiang Mai, Thailand. Took 11 hours and 800 km. I was happy as a dog when I got home (in pain but happy), there is no chance this kind of ride is doable on an SS. I've ridden across Canada on a Tuono before. If I wanted wind protection id drive a car.

Get back to us after several hours of it.
I was riding 401 on my F3 in a crazy strong head wind a few weeks back, had to crouch just to stop the front wheel from feeling light. That part wasn't much fun, kinda wish it had a taller fairing for street use.
I hear that. Unfortunately the more effective windscreens look kinda wacky on a naked

Windscreens / shields on a naked also transfer wind forces into the steering, full fairings transfer the forces into the frame. Into the frame is superior for obvious reasons.
