Hello, new to forums and street riding

Hello everyone, I have very limited experience with forums, looking to start riding on the street this year.. next year for sure.
currently getting ready to book my m1x course, and looking for a bike that I can tolerate and afford.
Many years playing in the dirt on powerful bikes makes a ninja 250 look like a toy you give a child, but I also seems like the only way to get reasonable insurance.
hopefully I can add to this community as I get to know what I’m talking about.

Advice from dirt and street rider:
Stay dirty!! way more fun!!!
Street - go pro on at all times,
be alert & focused, no rush...will only get you in trouble.
I'm sure others will chime in as well
other than that - Welcome!

Is true dirt is way more fun, but your dirt riding experience also gives you a huge advantage surviving street,
don't let on at the motorcycle training that you have experience, let them figure it out.

how about a KTM 390, expensive or reasonable?
... and curious what you rode for dirt bikes

Started on an old dt400, run trails(single track) cr125, and had the pleasure of riding my buddy’s Honda 450 around a mx track, that thing is a beast. Oh yah and when I visit my brother I ride his race cr250.. you need to keep it in power band or it fowls the plug, can get scary when the trails get tight.
As far as the ktm I really like it, but it’s gonna be a couple of years before it’s an option.
