100kms/per 3 L - anyone have a bike getting this fuel economy or better?

IIRC someone posted earlier today that their NC750 is 3.1 L/100. That's probably as good as it gets for a motor that big. I would think most of the <250cc bikes should be close to that number.

My Honda Rally gets about 3.1/100.

My wifes old Suzuki Marauder 250 that she started on tracked right around 3.5L/100KM consistently, so you may indeed need to be in the <250cc range.

My 2011 cbr125 will do 2.6 - 2.8 L/100 km in normal (mostly wide-open) riding.

I was under 3.0 on my Yamaha TW200 and my Yamaha Virago 250.

I rode a CBR125 from Toronto to Ottawa and back -- I got 2.4 running at 80-90kmh.

CB500X, average 3L/100km, mostly 3.5L/100km :) - I was looking at other bikes, and don't think I can get many being spoiled by this little 500's great economy, a 17L Tank I can easily go 400km, maybe 500km+ pushing with reserve.

Its quite possible to get 3L/100KM on a Yamaha R3 provided you don't accelerate quickly, always try to stick to the higher gears (4-6) and keep moving because the more stops you make, the more gas you'll waste to get going again... and all this while not having to slow down due to traffic (very important). You could easily push around 100KM per hour depending on the roads but you'll probably be better off doing 80 the whole way so that you'd get closer to the 3L instead of 3.5L. I have gotten around 4.5L while doing 150KM which is incredible just to give you an idea of how good the R3 is on gas consumption.

Also, as far as the gas tank, its a 14L with 3L Reserve and you'd be looking at-least 380KM using 91.

My cb500f would use about 3.3with my normal riding, a mixture of town, highway and 400 series highways. Moderate starts but not gentle gas saving starts 10 km over in 50-80 zones 20 km over in 100 zones. Did spend 3 days on Manitoulin Island last summer with a friend who was a very leisurely rider and on 3 fill ups I had 2.7 to 2.8L/100km

my (old) ninja 250 i would get about 17l/ 400~450km so about 3.5l - 4l on average depending on the style of riding

mind you at that mileage I would often go on reserve as well or ride like a pancake to save gas

got to say there are some good fuel sippers out there. Im especially impressed with the NC700/750? and cb500 fuel economy. cbr125 is nothing short of amazing. nice work by the honda engineers..

my cb500x gets anywhere between 3.5 to ...well... high if i keep wringing it lol

but conservatively, 3.5 can be had

Summer about 325 km per 17L ...so that's 5.23L/100kms?

Though Average according to online is 6L/100kms.

So for the old guys that means 4.5 liters for 100 kilometers is one gallon for 62 & a half miles 62.5 MPG. That's $6.25 per gallon that means cost per mile equals $0.10 Canadian.

can a Tesla beat that or any hybrid ?

Yes. BEV (or PIEV operating on battery) are something like 3 to 5 miles per kWh. Assuming $0.20/kWh (this is always a hotly contested figure around GTAM, charging off peak should be cheaper than this) you are at 0.04 to 0.06 $/mile.

I took my R3 up to Tobermory and back this weekend and averaged 3.4L/100km. That was drafting behind cars doing 100km/h with minimal luggage. its more like 4.5L/100 in the city/traffic.
