In this hot weather our central AC stopped working. Turns out the capacitor that starts the motor is dead. Where do you get one? I can see on amazon/ebay but need one quick because the heat is killing us. please help.

checked homedepot and crappy tire but they don't carry them.

Talk to local HVAC installers. I had the same problem a couple years ago, and Reliable Mechanical Services fixed mine.

Bill's Electric Sales and Service
829 Kipling Ave. (East side just north of North Queen)

Take the burnt one with you as a sample

Try Bill's Electric motors on Kipling south of Six Points. Motors is all they do.

Magneto Electric Service.

Bring in the old one and they will match it for you.
They deal with motors, no TSSA issues. And they will serve retail consumers.

I will second Southern Supplies - they've helped me out many times over the years with parts for DIY repairs, most recently a thermocouple for my furnace pilot light. Would have cost me $300-$400 for the repair to have someone else fix it for me, but instead cost me $19 for the thermocouple from Southern.

Post a photo of the old one and I’ll check if I have one.
