I would love be able to store everything I've ever wanted to keep on a cheap fast SD card...... the future looks bright.

There might be a thing as "too small".

I'm always misplacing those tiny MicroSD cards that all the action cameras use.

Also, just like WiFi and Bluetooth made RS232 and Ethernet (and soon USB) cables obsolete, cloud storage will make physical (local) storage obsolete one day.

at a point this will spell the end of our recorded short history, holidays on Kodak Cd's are degrading, folks are misplacing micro SD's and super safe external hard drives are cooking. Even printed pictures are not 'fixed' , its inkjet and will fail.

When the wind blows the cloud away, the clear skies will be bleak.

Pass the dutchie from the left hand side.....

Very ironic that cave paintings and stone tablets from thousands of years are still around, but stuff on optical and magnetic media will not be in a few decades.

"May", "could", "possibly". The entire article is speculation. They don't say whether there's a working prototype yet. Of course, we "may" find life on other planets and we "could" build humanoid robots that do everything. It's all coming, everyone knows it. Doesn't help us right now though.
