Just noticed this on my bike and its covered in oil I think, wdf?

Coulda come unplugged from the bottom of the airbox, and that schmutz looks like chain lube.

Isn't that the excess fuel drain hose? Had it hanging like that on my er6n. Tripped me out the first time I saw it too.

Think it's called "fuel tank vent hose".

^ I think so too. In the event of a spill I believe that is where the gasoline+coolant leaks out of

after a thorough look it is supposed to latch onto a clip that points it down. Thanks.

Not sure cant really tell from the pic but most likely it is the airbox vent drain hose. I think its called , it catches any gas oil and coolant fumes at bottom of airbox keeping it out of your air filter and on some manufacturers they actually cap it with a twist off plug making removal and draining of sludge part of regular maintenance
