Bar end weights?

Hey ladies and gents,

I recently installed bar end mirrors on my cb300f and in order to do that, I had to remove the original bar ends as well as the 5 inch or so weight from inside the bar to make room for the bar end mirror brackets.

The bike seems to handle fine, maybe a little bit more vibration when revving high on the 401 (401 isn't much fun on a 300 anyways)

My question is: are those weights supposed to be in there for any specific purpose? Should I find a way to put them back in, or find mirrors that would mount to the original bar end weights instead?

The weights help reduce high rpm vibes. It might be a help to have them on.As well as comfort, they also help prevent the switches from self destructing.

Thanks, yeah that makes sense. More high rpm vibes will wear out the switches quicker. Didn't think about that!
