No choice of 3rd party seats for the CBF1000 so rather than alter the bike's seat.....will try altering mine.

Seems well thought out.

Pair enroute

These are the ones that the IBA recommends and they pretty much don't endorse anything!

Just about everyone on their forum recommends them which to me is high praise. I'm ordering my pair this week. 4 way stretch moisture wicking fabric means zero creases and stays dry. Moisture and creases being the 2 main causes of chafing or monkey butt!

Those look good but don't do anything if your seat is already uncomfortable. The Motoskivees ones address that a bit. My faves for riding are the Motoskivees or a pair of Patagonia Capilene ones or I have some Columbia active cooling ones that are actually pretty good.

Did you look at Bill Mayer saddles? They work with your seat pan and go from there. You can contact for a price and you send all your info in. People swear by his seats and they look incredibly comfy the ones I have seen on GS's. Down side is you are out a seat while you send yours in.

I wish there was a body of riders in North America for feedback.

That price is getting above the French seat where I can get feedback from European riders. Plus have a lot of selection of materials.

Where I can get some feedback.

I'm leaving for Australia in 5-6 weeks for 3 months so not likely to do anything drastic til next season....see if these short settle my sciatica ....I'm only annoying sore on one side....it's the same even on the high end office chair I live in.

I just returned from a 6 day, 4000km ride to Virginia, Kentucky, North Carolina and Tennessee. Wore my new Moto Skiveez. Washed then in the sink every night and they were dry by morning. Did the job but (excuse the pun) not sure how I would have felt if I didn't have them as it was my first long distance multi day ride. Oh and the Dragon is a blast!

bike prior for me was an FZ6
was a member at that forum for years
never had a TS seat myself but they were very popular for that bike
had very good reviews
does your bike have a forum specific to it MD?

Yes CBF1000.com with almost zero North American members. They were never sold in the US, only sold in Canada and Australia for a few years but sold like gangbusters in Europe and the UK ....from 2006 and maybe discontinued in 2017. Really what a sport tourer should be. Under 500 lb with lots of go.
Seating position less aggressive than the VFR. Bit compact for two up tho.

Oddly ...there was another rider from Toronto at the Forks today with a grey 2009 and it turns out I sold him a MR Vario windscreen a couple years back.
He should show up on the forum here at some point.

This is my magic long ride combination:

Plus a pair of these.

Like I said in my Iron Butt thread, even at 21+ hours my butt was still perfectly fine.

I know not everyone has the luxury of being able to put such a massive seat on their bike (Cruiser FTW! LOL) but IMHO it really does start at the seat itself.

Yeah, that looks pretty comfy..and yes, the backrest is huge. I rode without mine for a single 3-4 hour ride once and soon discovered that I was never, ever going to take it off ever again. ;)

I can't speak much about those millennial boxers but I can vouch for the Airhawk. Got one 2 days ago and love it!
