Battery wiring help

Hey guys while pulling out my battery I did not mark what goes to positive and negative. I am 90 percent sure there was only one wire connected to the negative terminal but is there a way I can check or test. The bike is stock the only addition is an alarm

The two wires are the ones in question

And this is why electrical codes now require you to use the properly colored wires.

Do you have a multimeter? If you check the resistance between the ring and the frame, that could indicate ground.

The fused lead would normally go to positive, but god knows what was done by past butchers.

The safest solution is to trace the wires and hope they are labeled on the other end.

Update

I think I got it figured out the bike started fine

But the alarm is not working. I wonder if one of those wires was a ground for the alarm?
