Motorcycle theft on my street downtown is vicious. My neighbor right beside me got his bike stolen couple years back . He literally left it park in broad daylight went away for 30 mins and it was gone. Another neighbor had his bike stolen early morning on the same street, and another motorcycle stolen on another street right beside mine .I have a porch but I would have to walk it on the sidewalk for literally 20feet to enter my porch where I feel it’s much safer . Because it’s covered and block by a heavy object I put there, And believe it’s a hassle to move it but I feel safe. Am I allowed to do that. so far I haven’t seen any cops but if I park it on the street it’s highly likely for it to get stolen. No matter the alarms or locks. The odds are not worth the risk. Help because I really don’t want any hassle from a cop saying I have to park on the street. Downtown Toronto

put it on the porch and cover it up

crooks are attracted to shiny objects
Especially if they can just push it away.

OP, just do that porch thing. So much theft is crime of opportunity. Get rid of theirs even a little and you'll be much better off.

You can catch a ticket for riding the bike up the sidewalk, pushing it should be entirely safe from a ticket.

Bylaw could hassle you for parking in a non-legal spot but normally that requires someone to complain. If your bike is inconspicuous and you don't run people over on the sidewalk I wouldn't expect trouble.

There are a bunch of laws such as driving over a curb where there is no ramp etc but unless you're across the street from a donut shop it's unlikely you'll be noticed. Unless you have a jerk neighbour. I'd rather pay a fine than buy a new bike.

Wow, people will make You Tube videos about absolutely anything. (facepalm)

Oh, and cover it up on the porch.
Yep, I got some good ideas for a boot cleaning rack from youtube earlier

That was some quality workmanship we were exposed to there Face. Eight 3/8 bolts to hold together something in compression.

Haha, it gets better. Here's his 32 minute video on how to build them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3o9Py6w-uiA

He still has fingers because his Ryobi battery powered saw doesn't have the grunt to kick back on him.

I have a new guy at work right now like that. Can't put a screw in to save his life, mid 20's but not a grain of work experience. Too many pre-workouts and gym talk, no room for brains.
