nice escape ....weekend looks okay here ...finally.

cool, so it will be alright there again in a week or so when I head north

Nobody likes you!

Sent from the moon!

haha.....most don't...but I know you do SB
even though I bug you about riding an HD
but there is one in my future too brother

very nice ride down through central Alabama
state hwy 43, Tuscaloosa to Mobile
great road, great weather.....22 and clear blue skies
just enough breeze to make it nice with ATGATT

Mobile has some beautiful pre-civil warm charm
and French Colonial architecture
they even have the sideways traffic lights like la belle province

Alabama is just a beautiful state
but the soul crushing poverty gets hard to look at

anyway, made it down to Gulfport MS
NOLA tomorrow...then west into Texas

one shot from central Alabama

update time....not as interesting is a Lightcycle thread...but it's here nonetheless

cruising across Hurricane Harvey territory, pretty solid day, ~ 800 kms including a ferry ride

Bolivar Peninsula looking barren and lots of signs of hurricane damage
this guy survived well, apparently his stilts were tall enough

http://

lunch on Galveston Island after the ferry ride
a little stormy but starting to look tropical
Galveston is in surprisingly good shape post-Harvey

day ended in Corpus Chisti, not without some drama, fok!

So that was successful for you I assume.?
I have the insert kit ...maybe that canned inflator is a better route than a small compressor.

Good to hear that you made it. The day you were in Pigeon Forge TN, we were holed up near Robbinsville NC because of the rain, and we didn't get out the next day either because of the cold. The rest of the week was brilliant in TN and NC and made up for the couple of days that we lost. We're back home (as of last night) but not unpacked yet ... there's solid ice blocking the path into or out of the garage.

MD: seems to be okay, held pressure overnight
holding off on plugging it if I don't have to
sometimes that goes sideways and you end up worse off
but I have a feeling I'll be buying a tire before I get home :(

glad you enjoyed your ride week Brian, cheers

flat sealant in a can is useless, held 35 PSI overnight
started out this morning and within 20 kms had a stink off the exhaust
back of the bike was covered in that yellow crap, tire was almost off the rim

luckily there was NAPA near by, grabbed a 12V compressor
unloaded the luggage and got the plug kit out
2 nails within an inch of each other, was a basterd to get the plugs in
after an hour PSI still steady, so loaded back up an headed south
stopped every 50 km for the first 2 hours and tire seemed okay
made it down to South Padre Island
my final destination before turning around, with out incident

TL;DR

this is the routing so far, ~ 3,800 km

update: back in Ontario

came up a bit west of the way I took down:
Texas~Arkansas~Tennessee~Kentucky~Ohio~Michigan
then crossed over at Detroit

after Kentucky, which is really beautiful, decided to slab it rest of the way
up to that was all secondary roads, fantastic scenery and people

haven't been on I-75 for years, had forgotten how bad it is
from Cincinnati OH to the border
site rules don't allow me to use the appropriate nouns and adjectives to describe

monster day, Louiville KY to Chatham ON.....not a thing worthy of a pic tho
450 km tomorrow to get home, walk in the park
3 weeks, ~ 8,000 kms, been fun
