It's the ad on the first post that screws things up.

Same video posted below

Sorry @chdr I don't see ads so that didn't happen to me. Thank you @GreyGhost for putting one up that doesn't have commercials.

Everyone who's done track days has ran into this before...
Last summer at SMP there was a rider in red, who had no business being there... Apparently they had private lessons from a pro their last time out at SMP (sparsely attended, so they ran 2 groups, green and yellow/red) - the lessons were given in the yellow/red group, so the rider figured they were now red group capable. Just about an incident that would have involved 5 bikes in turn 2 due to wonky line and unpredictable braking. Could easily have ended up like the v4 panigale crash in the video above.

That's one of the reasons i don't do track anymore.

So, who's going to be the first one to pick up an 1100 and do all Ducati's Quality Assurance testing for them, as per tradition? :)

This particular case was an outlier, but the safety risk was significant as BigEvil noted. It's not often that need to approach organizers, usually after the first session or two riders will adjust into the appropriate category, but in this case action was necessary.
