Some guys just have to turn their weird "what if" fantasy into a reality. Kuddos to the guy for making it happen.

USMC had diesel KLR's in the fleet
no front drive though


that thing looks like its still in service!


In the era of helicopters, ATVs, tanks, armored vehicles, etc...wonder what use a little Klr is for the military

I believe you can still find them at auction from time to time

Marines are First to Fight
so I could see a good use for bikes

from what I've heard
main reason they were made with diesel engines
is that military does not usually have petrol on hand

I've done a lot of work at Base Borden over the years. They have quite the fleet of klr 250 dual sports from the early 90's. The mechanic I talked to said that he's never seen anyone use them but he still maintains them.

It's the one fuel rule. Unless it's a plane everything runs on the same juice.
