What Is This Bike

Never transferred like so many others. Lost miss placed. Sometimes it works in your favour. I was called about a bike in my name abandon in an underground parking lot. I had sold and delivered it two years earlier. Picked it up and sold it again.

That right there is why a buyer should make the effort to acquire an unfit vehicle ownership from the MOT :D (I made it politically correct that time)

OP; check under the seat, I'm pretty sure there is a documents pouch under there that might even contain an owners manual.

I make sure all the ownerships and paperwork are stored securely. The MTO has increased the costs on transfers and I'm cheap. don't want to pay the taxes until I need to. I enjoy fixing and then selling them on. Hopefully for a little profit not always. I have purchased more than a few old 70's-80's bikes with the lost ownership under the seat or in the side tool kit.

Get the VIN, go to your local Service Ontario, and buy a UVIP. That'll tell you everything you need to know.

If you don't mind waiting a few days for it to arrive in the mail, you can even do them online.

"Character 10 of your 17 digit VIN number designates the model year of the vehicle as follows.

A-1980 B-1981 C-1982 D-1983 E-1984 F-1985 G-1986 H-1987 J-1988 K-1989 L-1990 M-1991 N-1992 P-1993 R-1994 S-1995 T-1996 V-1997 W-1998 X-1999 Y-2000 1-2001 2-2002 3-2003 4-2004 5-2005 6-2006 7-2007 8-2008 9-2009 A-2010 B-2011 C-2012 D-2013 "

My GF thought she would really enjoy riding a motorcycle so she bought a used bike a year ago and took lessons. Shortly after she realized that motorcycling isn't her thing so she left the bike in the garage. She's thinks she bought a 2007 Ninja 250, but I just want to confirm. Now its time to clean that messy garage (as you can see from the pictures) hence why I'm trying to determine the value of the bike. And yes, I have no knowledge about motor vehicles or purchasing/selling of one.

I'll go look up the VIN tag when I get a chance.

But you guys say it is worth between $1000 - $2000? And most likely a 2008 Ninja 250?

Definitely not a 2007 model year. Those are the last year of the previous generation.

It might have been built in 2007 but the model year is between 2008 to 2012. More than likely a 2008 from the colour. It's written on the steering head.....that's the front part of the frame under the handlebars.
