Japanese riders *get* motorcycles, which is why they make & buy cool little bikes. They understand North Americans better than we realize. Take the Bandit 400, for instance. Liquid cooled inline four. Looked awesome in red, revved to the moon. A rider's bike. The market response? "Something something highways, something something performance." North America is a young and insecure culture. We crave our status symbols. Google Suzuki Goose. Another little gem. Still annoyed I won't get a crack at a SR400.

Umm actually it's due to legislation as it is in Europe before you take the kamakazi myth too far.

The Japan Biker FAQ--A General Introduction

A hot 400 inline with VTec is a superbike

When 250cc is a big bike .....400 Vtec is a Superbike .....you can't get a wound out VFR1200 for instance out of first gear ..driving is dull in Japan...

Whatever, dude.

it's a very cool looking retro bike
with a decent, little engine
other than that it's 80's technology
ie: it's chunky

Vtec gives a broader torque curve
it does not get anything more out of a 400 than is there

and dry weight is a BS spec
dry bikes don't move
the bike weighs 440 lbs

my bike with twice the HP is 20 lbs heavier
this is why this bike needs triple discs

and the reason it's so heavy
is because it's a liter bike chassis - CB1000
with a little engine in it
