Honda admitted an uncommanded throttle blip was the cause of John McGuiness' nasty crash in the spring.

Gawd help them if there was a technical problem with Hegarty's ride...

Good point. That was basically a solid wall he hit. You would think they could have done better with that track, a couple of feet of 4' thick foam or something.
 
I didn't see him actually hit, but he seemed pretty high in the air. I haven't seen safety barriers extend 10 or 15 ft above track level. To protect up high, you really need nets and as skiing has shown, nets introduce their own hazards.

No kidding! Casey Stoner's Suzuka 8 Hour crash a while back was also due to a stuck / non-responsive Honda throttle when he tried to roll off for a corner.
