RIP Gordie

Being 36, I grew up with their music. As a Canadian, I literally described Gordie as singing the songs of my people. I met my girlfriend at a finale viewing party, and the first time she heard me play a set, a couple weeks ago at another party, I was covering his songs with as much passion as they deserved. Gordie will always have a place in our hearts. Rest in peace Gord, you were ahead by a century.

Much too soon. RIP Gordie. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

I went to Queen's and had the good fortune to see them in the Toucan of all places. Also saw them at the Horseshoe. They were amazing in those intimate settings.

We are losing so many good ones.

The other great Canadian band from my youth was Spirit of the West. My thoughts and prayers also go out to Johnny Mann
