hey all hows it going? so the other day i went to do my spark plugs, as i got down to reassembling my bike and was putting my fuel tank bolt on, it wouldnt go all the way in. I turn it back out and found that it was bent? somehow.. not the slightest clue on how i did that, i mean i just placed it on the floor right after i took it off lol. so anyway, the next day i went to my local suzuki dealership and ordered a new one. looked online and found the part number through the diagram.
http://www.suzukipart.com/oemparts/a/suz/508b0958f87002353072361e/fuel-tank . part #09106-08156.

I went to pick up the screw today. looked at it and was like oh, maybe they changed the bolt or something.. so i get home, and obviously i compare the bolt size and the new one is shorter which means it wont catch the frame. unless i somehow ordered the wrong bolt, please tell me if this is the right one or not lol.

the screw should come in a plastic bag with the oem parts#

thanks! well i to the dealership this morning and the guy i dealt with said that suzuki's been dropping the ball on the product? i guess they're labeling it with wrong items or something but he showed me that someone ordered a spring from them and it was half the size of what it should be. he reordered it for me for next week so hopefully they send the right one this time

take the bolt, go to lowes (yes i know). give it to the guy in the hardware department to measure it and he will most likely have it there in stock. Yes I know, hard to believe but they got me a bolt for my brake master lid for my dirt bike

Honestly I went into one and i showed them the bolt and the closest thing they had was a hex bolt but it was too long. I didn't wanna try a home depot either so I just figured i'd just go to the dealership and order it. But thanks for the suggestion! Glad you were able to find your bolt you needed.

Long bolt + hacksaw = short bolt.

If you need that bolt, i will have socket head cap screws that would work. Stop by - buy me a coffee !
