any way I can cut the line for knee surgery?

For what it's worth, I did not need a referral to see a doctor at the Athlete's care clinic. Hope that helps to know.

Find out who's on staff at the clinic you want to go to by checking their web site. Then booking an appointment with the non-surgeon should be quick. Once you see that 1st Doc., he can refer you his surgeon buddy that you wanted to see in the first place.

Most specialist/surgeons only see new patients if you have already been diagnosed. Since you already have your MRI (you can get a copy on CD free if you tell them it's for the surgeon) and initial diagnosis, you could try calling the surgeon's office yourself for an appointment. Not likely to work, but it's just time lost playing phone tag.

But do be upfront with any new doctors that you are seeing. Tell them you're looking for 2nd opinion or surgeon referral, etc. And that you already have your MRI. They still get paid.

Hi, I would like to thank EVERYONE for their input. I now feel I have some direction on how to get this knee issue resolved. I feel educated and better prepared now. Again ty everyone.
I have found three sports medicine clinics in the KW area - on strasburg rd, andrews and university. If anyone would like to recommend one due to a positive outcome please do. If you would like to recommend one NOT to go to...please send me a pm with an explanation.

I would like to make my own recomendation - do not procrastinate on having any injury dealt with immediately. I feel if I had got my knee fixed promptly my knee joint wouldn't be as damaged as much as it is now. it was a huge mistake.
cheers all.

Make friends with a surgeon. Otherwise I think you're gonna wait.
