Sign up for a motorcycle lapping day with GP Bikes. We are only hosting one track day this year and have put all of our effort into making this one day well run and fun for everyone.

If you've never done a track day before, you may not realize what it's all about, what you can gain from the experience and what is (and isn't) required to participate. This year, our track day is being held at the Shannonville Motorsport Park. We will have the whole rider development track to ourselves and riders will be split into three groups according to riding level: novice, intermediate and advanced. One on one instruction can be given if requested as riders learn and practice cornering, passing, riding with proper lines and gain confidence handling their motorcycle away from the dangers of road traffic and vehicles with four wheels. Marshals are stationed at each turn to let riders know of track conditions and keep everyone safe. No one wins a track day. Riders are not racing each other. Everyone is there to learn, practice and enjoy riding.

A fancy sport bike is not needed to take part in a track day. Bring your street bike. Simple, temporary alterations are made to your everyday ride to make it ready for the track. Water wetter needs to be used instead of coolant, clear plastics need to be taped or removed and overall, your bike needs to be in good working condition. We have techs checking over bikes at the beginning of the day to make sure things keep running smoothly as the day goes on. Call us in advance of the track day for advice on making your bike track ready.

Required gear is not unattainable either! Most full face helmets are Snell or ECE rated. Ask us to have a look at your helmet to see if it's been rated with the most recent of these ratings. Not interested in a one piece suit like you've seen in Moto GP? No problem. Come in and check out our leather jackets and pants. Most come with a full 360 degree zipper turning them into a 'one piece' suit when you need it and a versatile jacket/ pant combo for riding of other types. A gauntlet glove and boot that covers the ankle are also required but we feel these are great investments that you should be riding with all the time anyways!

During the track day, when your group isn't riding, there is still lots to do. The camaraderie and community at a track day is palpable and riders have a lot of fun meeting new people and talking 'track'. GP Bikes is hosting several vendors who will be doing product demonstrations and doing giveaways throughout the day. We'll also be having a stunt show over the lunch hour to keep everyone well entertained (and inspired!). If you are still unsure that the track experience is for you, we suggest you come out to the track and check it out! Cheer on the riders and see how much fun it is for yourself! We bet you'll be asking us to sign up for next year before the day's over.
