Slipping clutch

well on my "new" bike the 85 cb650 nighthawk the clutch seems to be slipping in 2ed and 3ed gear when I hit the power band (7k) but I don't think it does as much when it's hot hot. I have not ridden it a lot yet too much rain :/ is their any other causes other then the clutch plates being worn

32 years out of what is (likely) the original clutch ?
Replace it, rebuild the clutch master and slave cylinders while you're at it and you'll be good for another 3 decades....

Sounds like clutch springs like riceburner said. Some of the higher mileage VFR800's have similar issue with WOT pulls over 7k. Clutch springs solve it.
