Age, licence class (m1/m2), training course completed yes/no, and your geographic location (see the link in my signature below) can all make huge differences and will help people give you an yes/no answer.

If you're a new, young, M2 rider living in the GTA that doesn't seem particularly bad at all especially with 1 ticket.

I pay approx $650/yr for my ninja 300, but have it bundled with my car.

I have liability and fire+theft insurance.

Richmond Hill - 25 years old, have been riding for 7 years.

DesJardin.

No tickets?

I had one, but it was about 5 years ago so it dropped off.

DesJardin does consider at-fault claims for up to 10 years though - which is also being considered as part of my rate which happened 8 years ago in my car (or something like that).

No, you aren't paying too much. The ticket is most likely what increased your rate slightly.

For comparison, I bought my ninja 300 when i was 19, Got my M2 a few days before, (2015) and paid $1650 for my first year, comprehensive, no collision. Second year, dropped to $1150. (currently on my second year).

Brother who got his M2 at the same time as me, who was 25 at the time, payed 1200 for his first year, same coverage, with no tickets.
