I hope the outcome is eventually favourable for you and by the sounds of it you did nothing legally wrong BUT.....don't spend any time at all in vehicle blind spots if you can help it. They are called blind spots for a reason. You operate a vehicle that is nimble and fast enough to get away from these areas at anytime, traffic permitting of course. Drivers appear to have a hard job seeing us in plain view at times, nevermind in an area of the road they can't see at all.
