Hi All,


I have a cbr 600rr 2012 with an oem Yuasa battery. I have recently been getting issues regarding start it up. I get 12.7-12.8 volt when the battery is not hooked up and around 9.8-9.9 volt when I put the bike key into "on". When I try to crank/start the engine, it stutters for a good 5-10sec before startup. Upon running I get a good 14volt. Is the battery in an acceptable condition in your opinion?
 
Stores will load test batteries for free, start there.

Something is strange about your readings. There is no way turning the key on should drop the battery voltage that low (especially if the bike is able to start off the battery).

Sorry, I should clarify that it turns on after being on tender for a bit.
 
5 years is pretty good but it's time for a new battery, there just isn't any capacity left in it.
