Any suggestions regarding a place where I can repair a bent wheel? The damage is not that big, tire is not losing any pressure (for at least a year) but I would rather fix it before my trip to Atlanta in July.
I'm always of the mind to replace it if there is ever any damage to a tire or rim. There are only two under you and if something goes wrong with one you usually get to test your leathers! The piece of mind is worth the cost IMO.
On a motorcycle, specially for an aluminium wheel I would replace it...no way worth the risk. You have to take into consideration how aluminium fails (and as noted by Morrissey you only have two). Steel rim is different.
On my car on the other-hand, I have straightened my own aluminium rims with a very big hammer, a 2X4 and a good eye...
What kind of bike? Front or rear? Wheels are easily found on eBay. I've found that fronts are oddly more expensive used. I think maybe because they're usually the first wheel to get damaged so supply is lower?
