Need to replace a fork seal on my FZ1 with inverted forks. Anyone have a spring compressor I could rent, preferably in York or Durham regions

No need. Google it and get a friend to help. You may require a thin wrench depending on the clearance for the nut as I did with my Superduke and I've heard with other bikes.

Hmmmm, I'll have to look into that. When I researching, everyone was saying don't even attempt to do it without one.

I checked the race tech website and you should have .92kg/mm springs, one of my dirt bikes has a .98kg/mm and that spring is a beast. I think you will need a compressor.

I've used a couple ratchet straps in the past but it's a touch sketchy and far from the proper way but will get the job done.

I've done them on my ex-WR450 and my Superduke; one guy pulls the spring down, the other fits the wrench into place... gravy from there. YMMV
