Here We Go...

Someone seemed to be implying closed borders in Australia.

Besides, false equivalency works both ways.

There are places in the world where people who are different are being slaughtered for being different, Christians as an example, and we should do more than lip service, at the same time, we don't need to go around doing the same, and killing people, simply because they're different.

And that is part of this debate. Some people think that all countries should by default have open borders and if they don't then they are being fascist/racist/phobic etc...
Countries fought wars to have the borders they have. Their citizens and legal system outlines who has rights in the country and who gets in legally.

Can I just show up to Japan and say here I am, now feed, house, and cloth me...and while we are at it start speaking English and take down your religious symbols...and put my symbols up...and also we abide by my cultural (homeland) laws and not Japanese laws. How does that sound?:lmao:

An Australian General (Army or Navy) simply made Youtube videos in different languages telling migrants that we will not take you in.
We are not Germany. We have our own rules so do not just show up on our shores without an invitation.

It is interesting how Iran looked pre 1979 and post 1979. Iranians rather refer to themselves as Persians today.
Checkout the Youtube videos of Iran pre 1979...kinda looked like downtown Toronto...look at it today...notice the women first.

But whatevs people elect their governments and condone what they do so for better or worse they live with the consequences of those decisions.
Seems that their is a battle of ideologies...and sadly it tends to be the innocent people on both sides that do most of the suffering.

No more 'safe spaces' for CIS women?

https://www.thestar.com/news/gta/20...allegedly-turning-away-transgender-woman.html

Weronika Rogula: “Women-only spaces should not be for cis (someone who identifies with the sex they were born as) women only, but all women including trans women who are women. We know this and so should they.”

Body Blitz: “We support the LBGTQ community and recognize that this is a sensitive issue. However, because Body Blitz Spa is a single-sex facility with full-nudity, we are not like other facilities. We recognize that this is an important discussion for single-sex facilities to have and we will seek to find a satisfactory resolution.”

Either that business will say screw off and or the courts rule in their favor for the RIGHTS of the biological women or women without a penis.
Likely the court will have to rule transgender is allowed in (with a penis) if their government id has Female as sex. Govt would be in a catch 22...legal document says Female but we will not let the "Female" into the Female only spa:lmao:

Will the feminists or those current women members of the spa draw a line and protest back to ask what about our rights.

This should be a good educational situation.:lmao:

It's already been ruled as discrimination. I suspect a transgender individual will attempt to use the facilities, be rejected, and then file a discrimination complaint. May not receive much punitive damages, but will be a news item and result in lawyers making some coin. SJW fulfilment.

The Canadian Human Rights Tribunal held in Kavanagh v. Canada (Attorney General), (2001 CanLII 8496, 41 C.H.R.R. D/119 (C.H.R.T.)) that discrimination on the basis of “transsexualism” is discrimination on the basis of sex or disability. The Canadian Human Rights Commission’s FAQ page for complaints now explicitly recognizes that gender identity is an aspect of gender to be recognized within the federal code.

"If customers have a problem with it, well", Cavanaugh says, "they’ll just have to be more progressive. It’s unacceptable that non-trans women will somehow be triggered or made afraid by the presence of a penis.”

Someone ain't towing the (nutty) party line:

Katrina Willis
June 16, 2017

Feminist and Bernie Sanders supporter Camille Paglia isn’t toeing the liberal party line when it comes to transgenderism.

“The cold biological truth is that sex changes are impossible. Every single cell of the human body remains coded with one’s birth gender for life,” she told The Weekly Standard in an interview published June 15.

The author of “Sexual Personae”, Paglia identifies herself as “a registered Democrat who voted for Bernie Sanders in the 2016 primary and for Jill Stein in the general election.”

“It is certainly ironic how liberals who posture as defenders of science when it comes to global warming (a sentimental myth unsupported by evidence) flee all reference to biology when it comes to gender,” said Paglia.

Americans need an alternative to the mainstream media. But this can't be done alone. Find out more >>

Ryan Anderson, a senior research fellow at The Heritage Foundation, agrees about the importance of biology to the discussion.

“The best biology, psychology, and philosophy all support an understanding of sex as a bodily reality, and of gender as a social manifestation of bodily sex. Biology isn’t bigotry, and we need a sober and honest assessment of the human costs of getting human nature wrong,” said Anderson, author of the forthcoming book on transgenderism, “When Harry Became Sally.”

Paglia also condemned calls for “special rights, protections, or privileges” for transgender men and women:

In a democracy, everyone, no matter how nonconformist or eccentric, should be free from harassment and abuse. But at the same time, no one deserves special rights, protections, or privileges on the basis of their eccentricity. The categories ‘trans-man’ and ‘trans-woman’ are highly accurate and deserving of respect. But like Germaine Greer and Sheila Jeffreys, I reject state-sponsored coercion to call someone a ’woman’ or a ‘man’ simply on the basis of his or her subjective feeling about it. We may well take the path of good will and defer to courtesy on such occasions, but it is our choice alone.

Paglia, the daughter of Italian immigrants, is a professor at The University of Arts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She has authored several cultural critique books such as “Sexual Personae” and “Free Men, Free Women”.

She holds an undergraduate degree from Binghamton University and a graduate degree from Yale University where she claims she was the only openly gay student. An enduring figure in academia, she has not shied away from criticizing Democrats, including comparing Bill Clinton to Bill Cosby.

Katrina Willis is a member of The Heritage Foundation's Young Leaders Program.
