Where are all the FZ-07s?

Ninja 300 rider here looking to upgrade to something bigger. Unfortuantely insurance companies have most new riders by the nuts so a SS is out of the question for me until at least a couple more yrs. With that said Ive always liked the Fz-07 and have been thinking about selling the 300 and picking up the fz. Aside from it having a lot more punch than the 300 I love that I can potentially do some touring on it. Anyhow, Ive been browsing on kijiji for some but all I see is ads from dealers for new 2017 ones. Where are all the peeps sellng their 2015-2016s?

FZ-07 is one fantastic ride, maybe the current owners simply don't want to give them up ?

This.

Also the fact that its a relatively new bike, will take time to hit the used market.

But bikes like that are generally rare to hit the market anyways.

the fz's the WRRs etc

Great 'bangs' for your bucks

How about this one?

I was looking at the FZ07 last year, but decided to go with the FZ6R instead. Same insurance bracket, more of them available which means more affordable prices, and theyre fairly bullet proof. The only thing I didnt like about it was the handlebars, they feel like MX bars, so I swapped them to clipons.

I'm also looking at the FZ-07. Found a couple of used ones near Ottawa or in QC. But for the most part I think it's just too new and too good to find used right now.

Even with the old FZ8, it was impossible for me to find them in Ontario. And because there were so few...the prices were usually ridiculous.

Ontario is far more sportbikes than anything else...except maybe cruisers.

Yeah, slim pickings for sure. Last year I was looking to buy used 2015 model ... found jack, end up buying a brand new bike.

Yep few and far between, 2 from quebec, and one close to sudbury

I know that Quebec guy with the goofy headlight set up has been trying to get rid of it for a while now, with no success apparently. Why on earth anyone would modify an otherwise decent looking bike to look like that...is beyond me. "tastefully" modified i guess

That's funny, he has knobby(ish) tires on it and a high fender and dirt bike bars as well as the dual sport headlight. That guy should have bought a klr.

It's getting better - I see a lot of people switching to nakeds and sport tourers.
MSRP and insurance are 2 main reasons. To me they are just way more comfortable than something built for a race track.

I'm most likely going to end up buying new even though I said I would never do that. I would love to have the 2016 blue frame/wheels with the 2017 blue tank

I am planning on selling my bike. its a 2016 wit approx 950km on it, completely stock. Black colour. PM me for details.

Dont forget the ADV/Dual sport/dirt bikes everyone is buying now days.

Fz-07s are awesome and they have some power (enough for the average urban rider). I haven't ridden one, only rode a duke 690, but similar kind of market. Rode the fj-09 as well.. and yeah... between the 2 (690 and fj-09) there was such a HUGE gap in power.... yes there was a noticeable difference..but probably people don't see the value in upgrading...especially with insurance differences that come with the change.

I've been in love with this motorcycle for ages and willl be my next bike... but some owners have complained that the seat gets toasty in the summer because it sits right on top of the exhaust.

I'm surprised to hear that. The exhaust routes under the engine and exits out the side same as most bikes. My RR has an undertail exhaust and I don't find it too bad.

I owned an fz07 for over a year and put 10000 km on it. I never experienced the saddle getting toasty.

The exhaust on FZ07 is tucked under the engine ... the seat is not toasty at all.
