Can coil packs be cleaned?

My 2012 GSXR 600 has been stored for over a year and runs well.

However, I decided to change the spark plugs and noticed the tips that connect to the coil had a bit of rust. I checked the coil and the part that connects to the plug also had a bit of rust. Can this be cleaned without damaging them?

Yes, you can use a bottle cleaning brush with some di-electric grease and clean the inside out.
it is always a good idea to leave a dab of di-electric grease in to help slow this down.
