Anybody use lever guards for the street?

I made mine. It's just lucky my fairings fit it just right.

Bark Busters is a name brand. Any that fit your bike should do an adequate job...if it's for street use as wind deflectors.

Thanks for the input guys appreciate it. Not a cheap option for sure (close to $200 from what I'm seeing). Anyone use a different brand from Bark Busters?

@ Riceburner where did you get those?

Anyone thoughts on this?

Those should fit however you won't be able to use bar end weights with them.

For street use I use these. Single mounting point, easier to fit and you keep your bar weights. You don't need the aluminum backbone unless you fall alot.
Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/400807780969

all you can ask

Least expensive handguards out there and sturdy. Fit great on my '05 KLX300R with stock bars. Bought a pair of Tusk MX D-Flex Plastic Hand Shields to go over them. I highsided on a ride last week and came down down really hard on the throttle side. Tweaked the guard a bit but it didn't break and the mounts held up well. I was able to straighten it out in a vise when I got home and put it back on.

Great price Quality product!
I picked these up for my 2012 DRZ 400S. I have enough abuse on these Tusk gaurds that I can make an honest review. These are AWSOME!!! My gaurds have been fully optested. I ride hard and these have suffered several impacts. they even survivled a 40MPH low side on the street due to an emergency stop gone bad. One hint on install is leave all the pieces loose untill everything is on then tighten parts as a last step. These have clamps made for standard 7/8 bars a friend of mine has used these on fat bars with longer bolts but IMO it looks pretty wack. You can probably get adaptors to adapt to fat bars but I have 7/8 heavy wall pro tapers so I dont know the part number. with aftermarket 7/8 heavy wall bars these fit great just pull the rubber spacers off the end caps and they fit right in

Not quite as strong as the BarkBusters I have on the KLR but no where near the price either.

If you are riding close enough to other vehicles to risk contact on the street, you've got other issues to deal with! Brush guards make sense if you are riding in the woods. On a pure street bike, I don't see the point. Some types might stop a lever from breaking if you have a tip over. Maybe. I never considered it.

Brush guards can work as wind guards and help keep your hands warm in cooler temperatures.

Agreed about the race brake guards though. Pointless.
