All good to know, but what is said on paper vs the reality is quite another matter.

The sad thing is that you either need to be really rich (to hire a lawyer) or really poor (to qualify for legal aid) to enforce your Charter rights. And, even when your Charter rights are breached, good luck having any evidence collected excluded under s. 24(2) of the Charter.

Good to know. Pretty much the same as seen on US TV except for the quoted statutes. The trick is staying calm and how you address the officer of the law.

One thing to take away is, know a lawyer to call before you need one.
