Had a Cooper's Hawk show up last year. Wiped out the 4 pair of Doves we had around for years in about 6 weeks.
 
And nobody protesting animal rights anywhere to be seen.

My dog killed one of those a couple of years ago... It swooped at a little squirrel in my yard... and the dog caught it.

Our dog "caught" a huge hawk a couple of years ago... seemed very strange since our dog does not fly. Don't think he hurt it much before they were separated, but the hawk wasn't really in a hurry to go anywhere. Dad took it to the Toronto Wildlife Centre the next day (borrowed a chicken cage from the neighbour) and it turned out the hawk was half blind - old damage, I guess maybe from a fight with another hawk? So they euthanized it :/
