Just got back from a nice ride down south. Must go back and further south next year when the days are long.
Here's some ones I see that I've never been on before, but seem to be paved and worth a visit.

Round Mountain Rd: https://goo.gl/maps/i7xcCmBHSwK2

NC 90: https://goo.gl/maps/BSUbjjxTpF72

NC 88: https://goo.gl/maps/Tcb49qRZci62

NC 80: https://goo.gl/maps/9uN4qBiHSTy - this is the section north of the BRP and looks as great as the southern bit

Meadow Fork Rd: https://goo.gl/maps/ieUM6N6zUwT2 - off the NC209 near Hot Springs

Paint Fork Rd: https://goo.gl/maps/xu9TmhWvVJA2 - very close to the NC197 - which is amazing in itself

and one of my all time best... TN32: https://goo.gl/maps/TFzedsqU63F2

VA 40:https://goo.gl/maps/KEBXGqNTMfL2

and a forest dirt road that looks sweeeet: https://goo.gl/maps/uHb1yjz2gEk - 80 minutes to travel 20 miles....

WOW. Some great rides and I say that just by looking at the maps.
A friend in Kentucky once told me that in western Virginia and the Carolinas and eastern KY and TN you could spend a lifetime looking for great roads.
And you still wouldn't find them all.

I've been on the part of NC80 south of the Blue Ridge - fantastic. I've been on TN32 and it is the tightest and gnarliest bit of pavement I have ever seen. It turns to gravel at the NC state line and it looked so rough that we chose to turn back...what a terrible thing to have to do. Turns out it is maybe a mile of gravel before you can get on I40. The gravel bit discourages through traffic. How terrible.

All great roads Shane - Done them all except the first one and last one. The TN 32 north of Gatlinburg - Found that a couple of years ago and yes you are right - it is 11 miles of bliss - (Nasty ***** Road ) - If peeps don't go out and explore they will never know what riding is all about when you get down in those areas.
Most peeps think that the dragon is best - Well once they get out and find the roads we have done they will learn that the dragon is all hype compared to the other roads.

So true. I went down in early Sept. and did the Dragon and a few other of the better known rides.
I wish the OP had posted this before I left.

A few years ago I posted this up: http://www.gtamotorcycle.com/vbforu...-Report-Smoky-Mountains&p=2096836#post2096836
It has a bunch of roads and routes mapped out. Last year I went back down there and rode a bunch of other roads, so those were added to the end of that thread.

Another ride I did a couple of years ago was through the Adirondacks and over to Maine and then south to the Smoky's and back up through Kentucky and Ohio. This is that ride report: http://www.gtamotorcycle.com/vbforu...port-Fall-Colours-and-Twisties-Eastern-States

I should really just put them all into one thread. Lots to choose from!

Here is a somewhat paved road that is a real challenge, the second part is mostly 1st gear stuff with lots of switchbacks and sketchy paving, Have no idea how they got paving equipment on it.

My friend on an RT was ok but did not enjoy it as much as I did on my lighter bike.
