Can you 'off road' with Vstrom?

Having a 350XT with knobby tires that I use for off-road only, I stupidly thought it would be a good experience to take my VStrom equipped with street tires, off-road. Well it wasn't fun and the least of it is I almost lost my license plate which vibrated lose and was left hanging by a thread, literally.

Follow the wise rule; never bring a switchblade to a gun fight.

You can go off road on any bike.
If you're riding a cruiser or street bike I wouldn't advise going very far or very fast however.

I had my 1198 up there as well that is fairly easy on any bike.
