PA & WV - Fall Colours Ride

Heading to West Virginia for a few days if anyone wants to come. Small group of riders preferred - ideally no more than 4 people. If you have ridden with me in the past - same sort of thing - definitely not for new riders! Start early, ride all day, sleep well.

Dates: Planning on Oct 20-23 (4 days). Weather dependent - meaning if it's raining on the weekend, I'll go during the week.

Pace: Responsible on the straights, respectful in the small towns and fun in the corners. I'm on a Vstrom 650 and ride a quick pace.

Accommodations: I set up the route to stay in Summersville WV, because there is a Super 8 motel there (wifi & free breakfast) and it's right beside awesome roads.

Food: Hoping to avoid long sit down lunches - maybe do the Subway thing to keep it light and quick. I also eat breakfast and dinner.

Routes: Since the days are shorter, I think maybe 700-800km/day except for the first day. As many twisty roads as I can pack in and there will be many.

Last time I went to PA it was friggin cold, and that was the end of Sept.

I'd be interested, but a heated vest might be mandatory this time of year.

I would so be in for this but think I heading down that way this week. Got a good laugh out of the maybe a Subway for lunch, have fun and ride safe.

Yeah it can be cold - a few years ago on my way back from down south I was riding through a full on blizzard at the higher elevations of PA around mid October. If the forecast looks to be wet, then I'll just wait a few days and do this during the week. Cold is fine, but I don't feel like riding cold and wet. I ride w/ full heated gear.

schrader: sorry I can't ride with you this week. I really wish I could, but life happens sometimes. Let me know if you hit up any amazing roads we didn't do last year and safe ride.
