Clutch safety switch works in reverse

All of a sudden my 2006 KLR650 won't start with the clutch pulled in. It has to be left out and it starts fine.

Normally I would leave it as long as the bike starts but I wonder if it could be the start of more trouble.

I can't think of any scenario that would have the switch working "backwards".

Any suggestions?

I suppose just removing the switch an wiring it direct is an option.

The plunger might be stuck ? In any event, the switch is pretty cheap as I recall, why not just get a new one ?

Thanks guys.
After reading the links from Blackfin I think I will remove the switch and have a look at cleaning and adjusting. As for the cheap switch the links peg the cost at 50$. I'd jump the switch before dropping 50$.
