Shop recommendation for rebuilding front fork seals on a 1990 Honda VFR750F?

The seal on the right-side is leaky: when I run my finger along the stanchion I can feel a thin layer of oil.

Can anyone recommend a shop in the Greater Toronto Area that has technicians familiar with this ancient Honda?

Anyone have an idea what it will cost to rebuild the front fork?

FYI - motorcycle forks are more or less interchangeable between the marques, and are only made by a handful of manufacturers. For example, all of the current 600s use Showa forks. Your VFR also has Showa cartridge forks. So they don't need to be familiar with your VFR in particular. You're just looking for a generally competent mechanic

are you sure the 90 vfr have CARTRIDGE style forks?

Fork seals are not complicated. DYI or use one of the local guys on the forum. Even Ted's junior mech could do it....maybe.

perhaps the seal is just dirty, try cleaning it first and see if it helps

you should be able to do this on your own ? unless you don't have the tools or know how....

something like this, store bought or cut out from a detergent bottle

or similar

use some old negative film if you have some around or a credit card

if you do it yourself you will need to have a stand to lift the front off the ground
be capable of removing the front wheel/brake calipers and forks, putting them back on and lining up the front forks/wheel
you will need a seal driver or homemade seal driver tool and most likely an impact gun

not complicated, but you will need some not too common tools and a place to do it

edit: you can save some money by just removing the forks yourself and bringing them in. crack loose the fork caps a touch while the forks are still in the triple tree - so the tubes don't spin on you when loosening the fork caps.
