I've been to a couple 5-9pm track days this year, but how does it work when sunset is at 8:30?
Do they start earlier?

The Thursday Evening Lapping days have always been promoted as running from 5 PM - Dusk.

Of course this is most beneficial mid summer when the days are longer. Earlier in the season as well as later in the season the evenings will obviously be a bit shorter as daylight fades sooner.

It's still the best value going for a trackday. Depending on the numbers and mix of riders it easily be just two groups which means almost as much track time as a full day event.

Unless it rains this will be an awesome track evening. The temperature usually drops off a bit around 5 - 6 PM in the region being so close to lake Huron, making for perfect riding weather.

Book off work at 3 PM and be at the track for 4:30ish. You'll be glad you did. Back to work on Friday like nothing happened.

Technical sounds great to me. I'll be there with about 4 others.

Now that the sunset is around 8:30pm we will move the start time back 1/2 hour to start at 4:30pm .
