Motorcycle accident in Brampton.. Rider ran away

and thats exactly what gives all of us a bad name

I was heading home from work a few days ago not far from where this happened, saw a group of guys on their sport bikes riding on a single lane road, they were weaving in and out, riding like morons, 4 of them surround an old guy in a minivan trying to wait for each other while impeding the flow of traffic, then at the traffic light one of them decides to knock on the minivan guys window to lecture him on safety, lmao

It was clear all the riders were not on the same level, 2 of them seemed to be new.

Thats a soon to be stain on the road.

Probably won't catch him if he never transferred the ownership unless he bought it off a friend

It will have a VIN ...

They'll look up who owns that VIN - the current/last registered owner - and obtain their address.

If the last registered owner has paperwork indicating that the bike was sold and to whom, but that person never transferred it, they'll look for that person.

They'll find who owns the bike. Whether they find who was riding it is another matter, but the cops have some leverage in the form of the bike itself, which is no doubt in an impound yard somewhere until they figure this out. Probably already have figured it out, it shouldn't be too hard, but then it's no longer public information.

If it wasn't a major accident and the bike can still be ridden, then why leave it behind and take off on foot? Seems so odd.

If it wasn't a major accident and he was scared enough to run instead of ride, perhaps the collision and the decision to run rather than ride were both based on a fundamental lack of riding skill and poor decision making.

Never know. Could be wanted on outstanding warrants

It is more than likely one of two possible scenarios;

1. Bike is stolen, no insurance, or the rider is wanted.

2. Young person, with very little experience, figured he was in deep trouble and just took off. (much the same as those who hit and run, when there is no real reason to flee, the brain simply isn't functioning rationally, and they do something stupid for no good reason).

Unless it is one of the items under reason 1. he likely would have gotten dinged for no plate, (although, it was Brampton so he might have also gotten the "careless driving" charge, As per the guy with the dashcam video), and been on his way.

Fakking brampton. Other than the backyard we had, and the track real close to home, i don't miss it one bit!

You could buy it for cash off kijiji using a fake id and email correspondence behind tor browser or something and then never transfer the ownership. The vin would just lead to a guy who can vaguely give a description of the guy. If he never planned to insure the bike then it's pretty easy to have an untraceable bike
