A man is dead following a collision involving a motorcycle in Etobicoke.

The victim, believed to be in his mid-20s to 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene after being thrown from his sport-bike, which jumped the centre median in front of Woodbine Racetrack and struck a transport truck.

Toronto police said they were initially called to the Rexdale Boulevard and Humberwood Drive area around 6:30 p.m. Friday about reports of a collision between a motorcycle and a car.

Police at the scene said the victim had likely already been thrown from his motorcycle by the time it collided with the truck.

The driver of the truck was not injured.

Rexdale Boulevard is closed in both directions from Humberwood Drive to Queens Plate Drive as police investigate.

RIP Rider.

Yesterday afternoon they, (on the radio), were saying the bike was "hit by transport truck." Now this morning on CP24, the Toronto Police spokesperson confirmed it was a "single vehicle collision, and that the rider had died of his injuries after losing control of the bike and hitting the median."

My sources say bike was traveling westbound hit a car, truck, jumped the median and then hit the trailer, which was going eastbound. Truck driver is also a fellow rider.
